(the "Company") (TSX VENTURE: XE)(FRANKFURT: E7R) - Mr. Simon Tam, independent director of Xemplar Energy Corp., announces his appointment at a Board meeting held of the Company on October 25, 2012, as Chairman of a Special Committee to respond to a shareholder requisition issued by Fursa Master Global Event Driven Fund LP (the "Requisition").
The Company will convene the requisitioned shareholders' meeting in Vancouver on December 28, 2012, for shareholders of record November 26, 2012.
A formal Notice of Meeting and Information Circular will be mailed to shareholders shortly.
