New MOPED Shop Opens on Chicago's North Side -- Offering New and Vintage Mopeds, Service, Parts and More
(firmenpresse) - CHICAGO, IL -- (Marketwire) -- 11/02/12 -- MOPED, 2068 N. Western Ave., Chicago, recently opened its doors for business -- specializing exclusively in the sales of new and vintage mopeds, service, repair, customization and parts.
The new shop on Chicago's north side features new Tomos mopeds, plus parts, helmets, T-shirts, gloves and other accessories for the rider.
"With gas prices around $4 a gallon, more and more people are turning to mopeds to get around at a fraction of the price of filling up a car," said owner Will Andrews. "Helping people enjoy mopeds is what we are all about. When we repair a moped, it is so rewarding to see a smiling customer riding away on a bike that may not have run for decades."
Andrews' personal passion for mopeds is evident. He owns more than 20 mopeds. Many vintage models are on display in the store. He's traveled around the country for numerous moped rallies.
The shop offers MOPED rescue at $20 each way for individuals who need assistance bringing in their mopeds for repairs. Labor rates are very competitive at $60 per hour. A $60 deposit is due upon drop-off for the mechanic to diagnose any problems, and make simple repairs, if needed. Any additional labor is approved via phone prior to the work being done. With winter approaching, MOPED offers climate-controlled storage at $50 per month per moped.
