Working shifts in SAP ERP: New function in enhancement package 3 for SAP ERP enables efficient shift changes
(firmenpresse) - Wherever employees work shifts to provide 24/7 operation, smooth shift changes are imperative – be it in food manufacturing or the synthetics and paper industries.
Early shift, late shift, night shift. Even today, employees at many manufacturers use handwritten forms to pass on information about shift-relevant events and important production and customer data to colleagues working the next shift. Such an approach invariably results in friction losses. Far too often, some of the information gets lost or isn’t available to all the people who need it.
But IT can help. Functions such as the shift report in SAP ERP enable shift changes to take place electronically – and thus be seamless, efficient, and secure. The module integrated into enhancement package 3 for SAP ERP ensures access to all the important information within the SAP system, without integration gaps.
SAP expert Georg Henneboel explains more about the functions, benefits, and planned improvements to this tool in his article on SAP’s information portal www.sap.info.
