Ohio Medical Group President Brings Health Equipment and Continuing Medical Education to Libyan Doctors
(firmenpresse) - CLEVELAND, OH -- (Marketwire) -- 11/06/12 -- North Ohio Heart (NOH), Northeast Ohio's largest private cardiology practice, and Ohio Medical Group (OMG) are proud to support in his quest to facilitate continuing medical education to Libyan doctors.
A Libyan American, Dr. Shemisa was vital in acquiring monetary assistance and medical supplies for the people of Libya as they revolted against the oppressive regime of Muammar Gaddafi. Dr. Shemisa, with the help of MedWish, an international nonprofit organization committed to repurposing medical supplies and equipment, and Cleveland hospitals and health organizations, to Western Libya around this time last year.
After the fall of Gaddafi's regime, Dr. Shemisa returned to his native land for the first time in 28 years. There, he discovered the dire need for updated health facilities and continuing medical education courses for doctors.
Upon returning to the United States, Dr. Shemisa contacted the American Medical Seminars, a continuing medical organization, for help in Libya. Together, they developed a plan to recreate five seminars (10 to 15 hours of lecture per seminar) for Libyan doctors.
While there, Dr. Shemisa and his team will proctor exams, complete evaluations and distribute certificates.
With the help of Dr. Shemisa, NOH and OMG, other continuing medical education contributors and individual donors, Libya can become a flourishing country with educated people.
