Hamburg, April 30, 2010 - In fiscal year 2009, PROCON MultiMedia AG (ISIN:
DE0005122006, Prime Standard), an internationally leading full-service
provider of technical equipment for events, film and TV productions, sales
amounts to EUR 81.0 million (previous year: EUR 105.3 million) in a
difficult economic market environment. The gross profit on sales decreased
from EUR 22.3 million to EUR 13.5 million.
The operating result amounts to EUR 0.4 million in fiscal year 2009 (in
2008: EUR 5.4 million) and earnings before taxes to EUR -2.6 million
(previous year: EUR 2.4 million). Earnings per share amount to EUR -0.34
(previous year: EUR 0.31).
In 2009 Procon has to work in an extremely difficult business environment,
which caused considerable reduced turnover and financial losses. In 2010
the business forecast is much better and the development of Procon's
business obviously improves considerably, so that Procon should increase
turnover and earnings. End of the year 2009 the volume of order with EUR
21.8 million was much higher than the previous year's EUR 13.0 million,
although this amount could lead to a limitation of its significance due to
the rapid developments of the business, particularly with regard to the
second half of the year 2010.
Projects served by Procon in the first quarter of 2010 have included
amongst others: the Echo Awards, the Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver,
Canada, as well as numerous international exhibition stands, e.g. at the
Detroit Motor Show, USA, and the international motor show in Geneva,
Switzerland. At present, Procon is working for the Eurovision Song Contest
in Olso, Norway.
