Outotec's sustainability report awarded Readers' Choice
Outotec received Readers' Choice award in the competition evaluating the
corporate responsibility reporting of the Finnish companies. Outotec's report
made it to the top 10 in the overall competition, too. The winner was Fortum
Oyj.
The jury appraised that: "The Outotec report articulates company's corporate
responsibility leadership clearly as well as recognizes and reports the
development issues transparently". The final selection was made by voting after
a two-phase evaluation process by 19 students from five universities and
colleges.
"I am pleased that especially students appreciated our report. We are a growth
company and for us it is important that we know how to explain corporate
responsibility issues in a way that attracts the next generation employees,"
states Outotec's SVP, Communications and Corporate Responsibility Minna Aila.
The jury had representatives from eight organizing parties: Aalto University
School of Economics, The Confederation of Finnish Industries, Finnish Business &
Society, The Finnish Institute of Authorized Public Accountants, The Finnish
Confederation of Professionals STTK, The Ministry of Employment and the Economy,
The Association for Environmental Management and Ministry of the Environment.
The competition evaluated corporate responsibility reports of all OMX Helsinki
listed companies and those of 19 other participating companies. The winner was
selected among 10 companies who received the highest scores in the evaluation.
The competition aims to examine the present state of corporate responsibility
reporting and its trends.
