Company to Unveil Next Generation UPS Offering

(firmenpresse) - AUSTIN, TX -- (Marketwire) -- 11/09/12 -- Data center operators are constantly faced with the challenge of having to support large scale, high performance, and high availability business applications while at the same time improve efficiency and lower total cost. The legacy approach to power infrastructure design as a result needs to change to take these issues head on.

To help operators address these challenges, Active Power (NASDAQ: ACPW) is providing two opportunities to hear critical power experts at 7x24 Exchange Fall (November 11-14, Phoenix) discuss the effect of a transforming IT environment on critical power infrastructure and how to optimize for energy and space efficiency and high availability in their facility.

"The Changing Face of Utility Power and the UPS"

Monday, Nov. 12, 3:00-4:00 p.m. (MST)

Frank Lloyd Wright Ballroom E-J

Bernardo Mendez, UPS product line manager, at Active Power, moves away from the usual conversations about how load profiles are changing in the data center and highlights the increasing transformation of the utility grid and its impact on today's mission critical data center. Mendez will also discuss why a paradigm shift needs to happen in UPS design.

"Trends in Data Center Electrical Infrastructure - Designing for Efficiency and Reliability"

Monday, Nov. 12, 4:10-4:40 p.m. (MST)

Room McArthur 6

Kamal Diwan, sales engineer, at Active Power, will lead an open discussion on current trends in critical electrical infrastructure designs and how best to protect 24x7 operations from the most dangerous threats. Best practices to optimizing the data center for availability, reliability, and efficiency will be covered. Specific case studies of innovative data center electrical designs will also be highlighted.

To meet the stringent requirements of today's and tomorrow's data center, Active Power will unveil its new CleanSource High Density (CSHD) 750 kVA UPS product at the conference.

CSHD is a three-phase, line interactive UPS that has been optimized for cost, efficiency, and overall system performance. The new and innovative engineering approach to the design and development of CSHD dramatically improves upon its successful predecessor the CleanSource UPS (CSUPS) 300 kVA series product line.

The 750 kVA rated UPS delivers industry leading power density, half the space compared to a legacy system(1), and saves customers up to 30 percent in operating expenses(2) due to its high energy efficiency, less cooling requirements, and low maintenance.

As part of the product introduction, Active Power will showcase a demonstration unit of its CSHD on November 12-13 in the Frank Lloyd Wright Ballroom during breakfast and lunch. Attendees can learn more about this disruptive UPS technology at Active Power's table (#55).
