University Canada West to Award Honorary Doctorate at Fall Convocation

(firmenpresse) - VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA -- (Marketwire) -- 11/09/12 -- University Canada West will award an Honorary Doctorate to Mr. Scott Hannah at its fall convocation ceremony on Saturday, November 17, 2012.

Mr. Hannah has helped change thousands of lives as a strong advocate for fair consumer legislation in Canada. As President and CEO of the Credit Counselling Society, Mr. Hannah and his non-profit organization has helped over 200,000 Canadians through education, financial counselling and finding solutions to overcome money and debt challenges. The Credit Counselling Society has received numerous awards and recognition, most recently being voted the BC Winner for the Consumer Choice Award in Business Excellence for 2012.

Mr. Hannah has also served on a number of boards and has been recognized for his volunteer service by Credit Counselling Canada, the national association of non-profit credit counselling service agencies in Canada. He often contributes his expertise to government agencies and media across the nation in regards to consumer financial matters.

In his spare time, Mr. Hannah coaches youth soccer and is proudly active in his community. He lives in Ladner with his wife, Lynne and their two teenaged sons.
