John Paul Pet Announces National Campaign to Support the Animal Survivors of Hurricane Sandy

ID: 202347

(firmenpresse) - LOS ANGELES, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 11/12/12 -- The philanthropic pet care company has vowed to support thousands of domestic and wild animals who have had their lives devastated by the effects of one of the worst storms in recorded U.S. history.

Hurricane Sandy hit the Eastern seaboard of the United States with a relentless fury, ravaging miles of neighborhoods in an unprecedented swath of destruction. Countless families have lost everything, and many pets have been separated from their homes and owners. John Paul Pet has vowed to take every possible measure to help shelters and rescue groups provide for the immediate needs of animals left stranded by this natural disaster, as well as reunite them with their families whenever possible.

Even in good weather, shelters and sanctuaries are often filled to capacity. When a disaster happens, these organizations are stretched beyond the bounds of their regular resources and are often located in the affected areas themselves. The American Humane Association estimates that 15 million dogs were in the path of the hurricane. John Paul Pet believes that the emotional devastation of a natural disaster is compounded by the loss of a pet, and is dedicated to supporting the agencies that are working diligently to help the most vulnerable victims of the storm find their way home again. Vowing to help "in every way possible," John Paul Pet is working with The Petfinder Foundation to raise public awareness and support of the agencies that are working on behalf of animal survivors and their families.

In addition to making donations of much needed pet care products, as well as offering financial support, Petfinder and John Paul Pet are asking the public to make direct contributions to the responding agencies in areas that have been devastated by the super storm. John Paul Pet appreciates that they are one of the world's most well-loved producers of pet care products, and is dedicated to living up to that distinction in this undeniable time of need.
