The public tender offer regarding the acquisition of all shares in GENEART
AG was positively received. Management and supervisory board of GENEART AG
have recommended accepting the offer in their joint statement dated 16
April 2010; which is available under www.geneart.com (under 'investor
relations').
Applied Biosystems Deutschland GmbH confirms its statement in the Offer
Document that it does not intend to prolong the offer period, nor to
increase the offer price in excess of the EUR 13.75 stated tender offer.
All shareholders in GENEART AG should, thus, carefully contemplate
accepting the offer the purchase price of which was considered to be very
attractive also by third parties.
