Texas Lone Star Network Chooses Texas 1 as the Austin Hub for Their Long-Haul Fiber Network

The fiber node TLSN installed within the Texas 1 allows customers unparalleled network access through a highly comprehensive Dense Wave Division Multiplexing (DWDM) backbone with multiple Ethernet rings. TLSN operates over 4,500 fiber route miles lit with DWDM offering 10Gig and 40G optical wavelength, Gigabit Ethernet (GigE) and SONET transport services via Cisco 15454 ONS Multiservice Transport Platforms (MSTP).

TLSN offers point-to-point wavelengths throughout their DWDM backbone network. DWDM combines data from different sources together with each signal carried simultaneously on its own separate wavelength. Since each channel is demultiplexed back into the original source, different data formats can be transmitted together. Ethernet, IP data, Synchronous Optical Network data (SONET), and asynchronous transfer mode (ATM) data can all be sent at the same time. TLSN offers several unique services such as , a unique service offering of multiple 10Gig or 2.5Gig optical wavelengths bundled together.
