Kesko's sales in October increased by 4.4%

KESKO CORPORATION STOCK EXCHANGE RELASE 14.11.2012 AT 09.00 1(2)
The Kesko Group's sales in October 2012, excluding VAT, totalled ?848.3 million,
showing an increase of 4.4%.
In Kesko's food trade, sales in October were ?379.6 million, an increase of
10.1%. Sales to K-food store chains were up 9.2%. Kespro's sales grew by 17.7%.
The number of delivery days in October was two more than in the previous year.
In the home and speciality goods trade, sales in October were ?142.8 million, an
increase of 1.5%. Sales growth was achieved by K-citymarket's home and
speciality goods and Intersport.
In the building and home improvement trade, sales in October were ?259.0
million, an increase of 3.2%. Sales in Finland were down 6.8%. Sales abroad
increased by 11.8% in terms of euros. In Russia, sales increased by 16.8% in
terms of euros.
In the car and machinery trade, sales in October were ?82.6 million, a decrease
of 12.4%. VV-Auto's sales in October were ?61.7 million, down 19.0% due to a
decline of the passenger car and van market after the car tax change.
Konekesko's sales in October were ?20.9 million, an increase of 14.0% from the
previous year.

In October 2012, the number of selling days in Kesko's wholesale in Finland was
23, which was two more than in the previous year. The total number of selling
days in January-October was one more than in the previous year. The number of
retail selling days in October was 31, which was the same as in the previous
year. The total number of retail selling days in January-October was one more
than in the previous year.
