See What the Future Holds at the Health IT Leadership Summit on December 4, 2012

(firmenpresse) - ATLANTA, GA -- (Marketwire) -- 11/14/12 -- The 2012 election is finally over, and many uncertainties facing the healthcare industry can now be resolved. With President Barack Obama holding onto his position for another four years, the initiatives started under the Affordable Care Act will almost certainly continue to be implemented.
What can we expect to see in the next four years? A blue ribbon roundtable of top healthcare executives will provide their insights at the 2012 Health IT Leadership Summit () which takes place on December 4, 2012. The roundtable will discuss the future of healthcare and how the industry must transform. Participants include:
Bart Foster, CEO, SoloHealth (moderator)
Larry Gerdes, CEO and Chairman, Transcend Services
John Haupert, CEO, Grady Memorial Hospital
Dan Styf, VP, Regional and Marketing Strategy, Kaiser Permanente
Gretchen Tegethoff, MSIST, CHCIO, CPHIMS, Vice President & Chief Information Officer, Athens Regional Health System
"The Summit has become an annual highlight for anyone associated with health IT and healthcare," said Tino Mantella, President of the Technology Association of Georgia (TAG), a founding partner of the Summit. "Now that we know who will be in the White House, it will be critical for leaders to understand the path forward, and the Summit's program is designed to answer those questions."
The Summit will address three key topics that are critical to meeting future healthcare needs:
The Future: Envisioning a future which addresses the challenges the nation will face while caring for an aging population and addressing near epidemic health issues with finite resources.
Transformation: Defining a roadmap for industry progression while addressing key trends. Breakout sessions will include "Election Impact" and "Industry Trends."
Innovation: Sharing success stories of innovative approaches and technologies that accelerate transformation, while improving healthcare quality and efficiency. Breakout sessions will include "Innovation: Improving Cost and Quality" and "Innovative Approaches."
The 2011 Health IT Leadership Summit brought together a sell-out crowd of more than 600 business leaders, healthcare providers, and public and private organizations. The Health IT Leadership Summit was created by the TAG Health society, the Georgia Department of Economic Development and the Metro Atlanta Chamber.
