International Mouth and Foot Painting Artists' Exhibition Comes to Denmark
(firmenpresse) - COPENHAGEN, DENMARK -- (Marketwire) -- 11/15/12 -- The Association of Mouth and Foot Painting Artists (AMFPA) together with their Danish division Mund-og Fodmalende Kunstnere (MFK) put on an International art exhibition last weekend at Kulturhuset Islands Brygge in Copenhagen. At the local community house, the public was treated to a display of over 30 inspirational paintings.
Visitors saw a selection of artwork produced by some of the AMFPA's most successful artists which included works from Danish mouth painters Ann Lund and Ruth Christiansen and foot painter Panijota Iztilaki. The MFK was happy to report that the exhibition attracted over 1,000 visitors a day making a total of 3,000 across the three day event. In addition to the paintings displayed, UK artist Tom Yendell along with Ann, Ruth and Panijota gave live demonstrations of their painting techniques which caught the public's interest and admiration.
Tom Yendell is a member of the UK Mouth and Foot Painting Artists (MFPA) and was responsible for bringing the artwork to Denmark and worked with his Danish colleagues to put on the international exhibition. Tom said, "I thank my Danish friends for the opportunity to be part of this unique event. It's so nice to be able to work together and show our organisation's work. I was overwhelmed by how nice the venue was and by the warmth of the Danish people. I also hope that this will become a regular event as it's the best way of communicating directly with the public and to gain awareness of our passion and our mission."
Ann added: "It's very nice to have a joint exhibition with our English friends from MFPA. We wanted to show the Danish public that we are much more than a few local Danish artists and that the strength of our organisation comes from being part of a bigger, international community with fellow artist colleagues from all over the world."
The Association of Mouth and Foot Painting Artists is a wholly owned, international self-help organisation of seriously disabled artists who take pride in earning their own living by painting with a paint brush held in their mouth or between their toes.
