Peter Meier has been appointed as the new Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of
the Kuoni Group. He will assume his duties on 1 December 2010. Peter Meier
succeeds Max E. Katz, who announced in March that he would be taking
retirement at the end of this year. Peter Meier comes to Kuoni from the
Sulzer technology corporation, where he has been serving as CFO since 2007.
Peter Meier, who is 44 and a Swiss national, has been with the Sulzer
corporation since 1992. A widely-experienced financial specialist, he
served as a controller and head of finance at various Sulzer business units
in and outside Switzerland before assuming the position of CFO of the
Winterthur-based corporation in March 2007, also becoming a member of the
Sulzer Executive Team. A graduate in business administration, he also holds
an MBA from the State University of New York.
Peter Meier will begin his work at Kuoni on 1 November 2010, and will
formally assume his responsibilities as CFO of the Kuoni Group on 1
December. He takes over from Max E. Katz, who has been serving as Group CFO
since 1995, and who announced in March that he would be taking retirement
at the end of this year.
