Made in Germany: St. ERHARD receives approval for Indian market
(PresseBox) - As one of the first German beer brands St. ERHARD has entered the Indian market. Promoted with the slogan "Brewed and Bottled in Bavaria" the premium brand wants to establish itself there as a synonym for German beer.
"Our beer is brewed in Germany and shipped to India by container," says the founder of the young startup company Christian Klemenz. "Indian consumers value genuine German products. This sets us apart from locally produced beers of inferior quality."
Customers of this specialty product are hotels and restaurants in Northern India. The company also wants to enter other Asian markets and plans to expand the export of St. ERHARD beer to countries such as China, Japan, Singapore and South Korea.
That the business will be successful investor and business angel Günter Wiskot is sure of. The well renowned expert for India who provides business contacts between Indian and German medium-sized companies through his company Blafoc Black Forest Consulting and author of a book about India supports the young business with his knowledge and experience.
"In India Germany is associated with three things: cars, football and beer," says Managing Director of Blafoc Günter Wiskot. "Despite cultural boundaries, sales of beer have doubled in the past five years in India. The market is growing and the German luxury brand St. ERHARD will benefit from that."
