Israel Conversations Abound at LimmudBoston 2012

(firmenpresse) - WABAN, MA -- (Marketwire) -- 11/26/12 -- Israel is certainly in the news, and Israel conversations will be front and center at on Sunday, December 2nd at Congregation Mishkan Tefila in Chestnut Hill, MA. During the all day, volunteer-driven conference celebration of Jewish culture, with over 15 choices of programs, panels, concerts & presentations each hour, there are plenty of opportunities to hear about Israel -- from many different points of view.

The Israel Consul General for New England, Shai Bazak, will speak on up-to-date Israel news, followed by an audience Q&A. The Consul General's program will be moderated by United Nations Mideast Expert, Scott Lasensky. Lasensky will also present his own session, focused on "The Mideast Puzzle," his newest book, available in stores next month.

Margot Einstein, Charles Jacobs, and others, will provide a panel discussion on "Anti-Israel Bias in Schools." What, exactly, is the message area school children receive when Israel is discussed in the classroom?

A session by Andrew Vogel, rabbi at Temple Sinai in Brookline, focuses on "Israel's Declaration of Independence and Jewish tradition." Additionally, "Possibilities for a Successful Two-State Solution" will be offered by J Street's Adam Steinberg.

LimmudBoston 2012 will offer a total of more than 100 sessions, ranging from spirituality and movement to Torah text and study, along with storytelling and music and more.

LimmudBoston is also the host of the annual . After the traditional "Judas Maccabeus," singers will turn to songs of Israel, in honor of Israel's upcoming 65th celebration of statehood. The Israel theme continues in the final moments of LimmudBoston 2012, when musicians Noah Aronson, Naomi Less and Rabbi Shawn Zevit lead the entire a grand finale of songs of peace. Noah, Naomi & Shawn will also provide a mid-day lunchtime concert featuring their own compositions.

Pre-registration for LimmudBoston is only $36; Walk-in registration is $45. There are special reduced young adult rates as well as family rates, for those with children ages 3-13 who are registered by November 29.





The LimmudBoston celebration of Jewish lifelong learning upholds the principles of Limmud ("Limmud" is Hebrew for "study.") conferences throughout the world, where titles are left at the door, and everyone is on a first-name basis.
