Millionaire Investor Confidence Index (SMICI(R)) Falls 8 Points
(firmenpresse) - CHICAGO, IL -- (Marketwire) -- 11/28/12 -- Spectrem Group announced today that its Spectrem Affluent Investor Confidence Index (SAICI®) fell 11 points in November to -13, its lowest reading in one year, and the largest month-to-month drop since June 2011. The Spectrem Millionaire Investor Confidence Index (SMICI®) fell 8 points to -6, a three-month low.
The Indexes measure the investment confidence and outlook of households with $500,000 or more in net worth.
"This dramatic drop in Affluent confidence is a reflection of increasing concern over the looming fiscal cliff," said George H. Walper, Jr., President of Spectrem Group. "The fiscal cliff, coupled with the political climate, are the news stories that affluent investors tell us are most affecting their economic outlook."
This concern is further reflected in the Spectrem Affluent Household Outlook, a survey of attitudes toward financial factors that impact their daily lives. The Outlook fell in November to its lowest level since August 2011. Confidence in the economy took the biggest hit, dropping to its lowest reading since September 2011. Company Health fell to a more than eight-year low, while Household Assets dropped to its lowest reading in one year.
