RoodMicrotec ralises strong sales growth and anticipates healthy growth for 2010

General
In the first months of 2010, the number of applications for our services
improved significantly. This has resulted in a number of contracts with major
customers in the semiconductor industry and in a strong increase of sales in the
course of April. Test & Related Services and Supply Chain Management even
reported sharp sales increases compared to the first four months of 2009. The
positive results in Test & Related Services are characteristic of a market
recovery. Based on the increase of the number of applications in our growth
segments (Failure & Technology Analysis, Qualification & Reliability
Investigation and Test Engineering), we expect to realise healthy sales growth
over the next few months there, too, although at a lesser rate. Supply Chain
Management will continue to grow sharply compared to the same period in 2009.
By participating in seminars and trade fairs, we aim to highlight our specific
expertise and share it with our customers and partners. We attended the Light &
Building Fair in Frankfurt from 11 through 16 April, where we made many useful
contacts (see also issue 6 of our newsletter on www.roodmicrotec.com).
'We have clearly climbed out of the deep recession of 2009. The measures we took
have put us in a far stronger position than we were in before the crisis,' said
Philip Nijenhuis, CEO of RoodMicrotec.
Official name change
In order to emphasise our unity and to avoid confusion, we have operated under
the name RoodMicrotec N.V. as of April. The name Rood Testhouse International
N.V. was discontinued. The general meeting of 25 March 2010 approved the name
change.
Organisation
We will continue to optimise the organisation, aiming to improve efficiency and
increase sales per employee, while keeping an eye on the balance between the
number of employees per business unit and the capacity required.
Financial position
We will continue to focus on our cash position and on improving the financial
results.
In the first four months of 2010, our cash position remained virtually unchanged
compared to year-end 2009.
Outlook for 2010
Based on the developments in April and on our outlook for May and June we
expect, barring unforeseen circumstances, strong sales growth in the first half
of 2010 compared to the first half of 2009. In the second half of 2010, we
anticipate further sales growth. The sales growth in the full year 2010 will
lead to an improvement of the result and the cash position in the second half of
2010.
In the long term, we consider an average annual sales increase of between 5% and
15% to be realistic.
