Energistics Elects Eric Toogood and Espen Johansen to Its Board of Directors
(firmenpresse) - HOUSTON, TX -- (Marketwire) -- 12/10/12 -- Energistics, the upstream oil and gas standards consortium, announced today that Eric Toogood, Diskos Manager for the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate (NPD), and Espen S. Johansen, Ph.D., Vice President Marketing and Commercialization - Production and Completion Systems for Weatherford, have been elected to its Board of Directors.
Mr. Toogood has 30 years experience in the oil and gas industry working for Det Norske Veritas, Norsk Hydro and EB Consultants before joining the NPD in 1987. He has a H.N.D. degree in Applied Biology from DeMontfort University, UK and a BSc, Library and Information Science from Oslo University College.
Dr. Johansen holds 13 patents and has been published more than 25 times during his energy industry career. He began his career with Weatherford as their Global Product Line Manager, Flow Solutions and moved to Eastern Hemisphere Manager, Flow Solutions, based in London and then Dubai; he currently serves as Vice President Marketing and Commercialization - Production and Completion Systems. Dr. Johansen's doctorate is in Aerospace Engineering from Texas A&M University. He also earned his Aeronautical Engineer certification from Agder College of Engineering in Grimstad, Norway.
On his election as a Board Member of Energistics, Mr. Toogood said, "Both the NPD and the Diskos community have a strong focus on standardization initiatives so I am looking forward to representing Norway, and more importantly, the regulators of the energy industry, in promoting the importance of open data exchange standards."
