---------------------------------------------------------------------------?Plant for the fermentation of difficult organic waste and residual
materials?Order volume in the lower single-digit million range? One of the first BioGas plants in the emerging Turkish market
(Grambach, 21. May 2010) The Austrian company Enbasys GmbH, that is based
in Grambach near Graz in Austria and recently jointed the BDI Group, has
been commissioned by Biosun A.S., a company operating in the field of
renewable energy, to build a plant for the fermentation of organic
household waste and residual agricultural materials in Turkey. The ENBAFERM
multi-feedstock BioGas technology of Enbasys is being used in this plant,
which will be carrying out bioenergetic processing of about 55,000 tonnes
of difficult municipal and industrial waste per year. Not only
environmentally-friendly BioGas, that will be used to generate electricity,
but also heat and high-quality biological fertiliser will be produced. The
order volume for Enbasys GmbH is in the lower single-digit million range.
Turkey is an emerging country with tremendous economic potential that has a
very strong commitment to implementation of the EU environmental standards
and has set itself the goal of covering its energy requirements to an
increasing extent from domestic and, above all, renewable resources. Waste
disposal regulations are becoming stricter and stricter at the
international level and thus in Turkey as well, with the result that
municipal waste has to be collected separately. This means that the amount
of organic waste available is rising and, together with residual
agricultural materials, is now going to be converted about 150 km east of
Istanbul into BioGas in a new plant and then into electricity subsequently
fed into the public power network. The plant will have an electricity
generation capacity of 1.2 - 1.4 MWel and will save the environment about
12,000 tonnes of CO2 per year.
Biosun is an industrial company that by choosing ENBAFERM has opted for
what is currently the most efficient technology, that also achieves the
highest possible BioGas yield level, operates extremely reliably when
processing a variety of different raw materials and is therefore able to
guarantee constant input into the public electricity network 365 days a
year. New standards are set as a result. A side-effect that should not be
underestimated is that the plant also processes the fermentation residue
into high-quality biological fertiliser, for which there is strong demand
in Turkey in particular.
The groundbreaking ceremony for the plant is to be held in July 2010 and
start-up is scheduled for the first quarter of 2011.
BDI - BioDiesel International AG, the manufacturer of special Waste to
BioFuel plants, only recently took over 51% of the shares of Enbasys GmbH.
For the first time advantage is now being taken in the commission from
Turkey of the synergy benefits available at the two companies: BDI, which
has in-depth know about special plant manufacturing, will be responsible
for the construction work and project management, while Enbasys will
contribute the technology. It is possible as a result for them to act as a
single, integrated supplier of a complete plant - from planning and
construction to start-up and after-sales service.
'The increasingly strict regulations about the disposal of waste in Turkey
is expected to lead to a strong rise in the industrial exploitation of
municipal waste, since only two plants in this vein have been built in
Turkey so far. With our ENBAFERM technology, our customer has chosen the
currently most efficient and reliable industrial standards', the two
directors of Enbasys GmbH, Markus Grasmug and Stefan Kromus, are pleased to
report.
About Enbasys GmbH
Enbasys GmbH is a leading specialist in the biotechnological obtainment of
energy in the form of BioGas. The company has focussed on 'Waste to BioGas'
since it was established in 2007. Enbasys GmbH has developed the highly
efficient, patented ENBAFERM multi-feedstock BioGas technology, which is
particularly suitable for the bioenergetic processing of difficult
industrial waste, that is available as a raw material all year round
irrespective of seasonal fluctuations. Thanks to this innovative plant
technology and the highly efficient components, the dimensions of the plant
can be kept small, which makes energy generation particularly economic.
Such valuable materials as clean water and concentrated fertiliser are
produced with the ENBAAIR fermentation residue treatment process.
About BDI - BioDiesel International AG
BDI - BioDiesel International AG is market and technology leader in the
construction of customised BioDiesel plants using the multi-feedstock
process the company has developed itself, which can manufacture BioDiesel
from different raw materials, such as vegetable oils, used cooking oils and
animal fats. The company has specialised in the development of technologies
that make optimum use of resources in the industrial processing of by- and
waste products ever since it was established in 1996 and owns an extensive
patent portfolio that has resulted from its in-house research and
development activities. As a leading manufacturer of special plants, BDI -
BioDiesel International AG also supplies efficient plant concepts in the
waste to energy field that are designed to obtain high-quality omega-3
fatty acids and to produce BioGas from industrial waste. The range of
services includes public authority, basic and detailed engineering,
installation and start-up as well as after-sales support. BDI - BioDiesel
International AG and the companies it consolidates currently have more than
130 employees. The shares in BDI - BioDiesel International AG (ISIN
AT0000A02177) are listed in the Prime Standard/Regulated Market at
Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
