Imtech: 31 million euro sustainable technology orders for Porsche Audi and Daimler
(Thomson Reuters ONE) -
Gouda - Imtech N.V. (technical services provider in Europe) announces that it
has received orders amounting to 31 million euro for sustainable technology
solutions and energy technology from Porsche, Audi and Daimler in Germany and
Hungary. In addition to its activities in Europe, Imtech is also increasingly
providing innovative testing technology for the rising automotive industry in
the Far East.
René van der Bruggen, CEO of Imtech: 'The automotive industry is and remains an
important 'engine' of the German economy. Imtech occupies a strong position
there as technology partner and is active, amongst others, in advanced testing
technology with which new and efficient car models with low CO(2) emissions are
developed. Imtech also provides high-tech test facilities and 'end-to-line'
testing technology and car body testing. With Germany as its strong base, Imtech
is implementing energy-saving production processes throughout Europe. Moreover,
high-tech test facilities are increasingly being exported from Germany to 'new'
car manufacturing countries such as China, India and Thailand.'
Energy-saving upgrade of Porsche's paint shop in Germany
In Zuffenhausen, Germany, Imtech is providing the sustainable technical
infrastructure of a new 12.000 m² paint shop of Porsche. This paint shop will
meet the highest possible energy efficiency requirements. Imtech is providing
the integration of energy provisions with communication and data technology in
high-tech building automation, including ultra-modern solutions for electrical
solutions and fire safety. By support of its own innovative simulations
programmes Imtech is integrating and creating the perfect setting for an optimal
energy exploitation of the various parts of the technical infrastructure. This
solution garantees for Porsche a solid economic feasibility with a payback
period of around two year.
Sustainable production and assembly shops for Audi and Daimler in Germany and
Hungary
In Ingolstadt, Germany, Audi is constructing a new body shop with an area of
80.000 m², including office space. Imtech is responsible for providing the
entire technical infrastructure with optimum energy efficiency. Imtech will
carry out the 24/7 available technology for the entire production process, such
as electricity, heating, cooling, steam, water, and all other technical gasses.
In Kecskemet, Hungary, a similar order has been obtained for a new assembly shop
for Daimler.
High-tech test facilities for 'new' car manufacturing countries
In Germany, Imtech is one of the strongest parties in developing and realizing
advanced testing technology. Imtech provides 'end-to-line' test facilities from
its own competence centre in Hamburg (UMSI, Environmental Simulation/Test Bed
Technology) to almost the entire automotive industry. Recently, Audi ordered a
new multifunctional test facility. The quality of this technology is so good
that it is also increasingly being exported, for instance to the fast-expanding
automotive industry in China, Thailand and India.
