Balluff: Sensor specialist opens new building in Mexico

December 2012: The sensor specialist, position measurement expert and
industrial networking supplier Balluff from Neuhausen a. d. F. has marked
the opening the new headquarters of its subsidiary, Balluff Mexico, with a
small ceremony. Located in the extremely energy-efficient new building are,
not only the local administration offices, but also development, marketing,
sales and the distribution center. It also houses a modern training center
for conducting training courses as well as facilities for technical
support. The new building became necessary due to the rapid increase in the
number of employees in recent years, which has reached a new all-time high
of 64 direct workplaces and 105 indirect workplaces.
With the doubling of its spatial capacity, Balluff Mexico is ideally
prepared for future challenges. Balluff Mexico is strategically located in
the middle of the Mexican automotive cluster in the center of the country
in the immediate vicinity of important customers, the large automobile
manufacturers and their suppliers. Other reasons for the choice of location
included the qualified workforce, the level of the local education system,
the good security situation and the high quality of life.
The innovative building design of the Balluff subsidiary in Querétaro meets
the latest environmental standards, was designed for minimal energy
consumption and also uses regenerative energy sources. All rooms are
equipped with energy-saving LED lights. To make maximum use of the
available sunlight, a lighting system is installed in the warehouse that
uses special 'daylight tubes' to direct an adequate amount of daylight into
the interior while simultaneously keeping out harmful UV light and the high
temperatures of the outside air. A solar thermal system covers all warm
water needs.
As a leading, globally active sensor specialist and connectivity provider
with more than 2,450 employees, the Balluff Group offers a complete line of
high-quality sensors, position measurement systems, RFID systems and
industrial networking solutions for all areas of factory automation. The
