Beacon Endoscopic Partners With Fujifilm Corporation (China, EU, and Asia-Pacific) to Distribute EUS Devices in Select Markets Outside the United States
(firmenpresse) - NEWTON, MA -- (Marketwire) -- 12/20/12 -- At the 2012 Asia-Pacific Digestive Disease Week (APDW) conference in Bangkok, Thailand, Beacon Endoscopic Corporation, an emerging GI endoscopy company, began its strategic partnership with Fujifilm Corporation's (FUJIY) global commercialization arm in select markets; Fujifilm-China, Fujifilm-EU and Fujifilm-Asia/Pacific, a global leader in healthcare equipment and technology.
Through the partnership, Fujifilm will begin distributing Beacon's Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS) devices in select markets outside the United States. Additionally, the two companies plan to investigate opportunities to co-develop interventional endoscopy technologies.

At Asia-Pacific Digestive Disease Week, the Beacon Needle eXchange System™ was showcased in the Fujifilm trade show booth. According to Mr. Masahiro Ota, Vice President of Fujifilm-China, "The BNX System™ combined with our Endoscopic Ultrasonography System makes us a more versatile solution for both diagnostic EUS and therapeutic EUS procedures. There is great interest in the availability of the BNX System™ along with our EUS SU-8000 and SU-7000 platform for the rapidly growing China market."

Historically, physicians used EUS to aid in the diagnosis of GI conditions and disease states, but as emerging interventional and therapeutic devices become available, EUS has become one of the fastest growing segments of endoscopy.
