Ratos: Johan von Heijne new CEO of Biolin Scientific

Johan von Heijne has been appointed as the new CEO of Ratos's subsidiary Biolin
Scientific with effect from 1 February 2013. Johan von Heijne has long and sound
experience within the biotechnology sector.
Johan von Heijne, born 1961, will join Biolin Scientific from GE Healthcare Life
Sciences where he has been General Manager of the Research Products business
area since 2008. In this role Johan was responsible for a product area with
annual sales of USD 500m worldwide and manager for more than 100 employees in
several countries. He has previously held leading positions within Biacore and
Radi Medical, among others.
The Chairman of Biolin's Board, Peter Ehrenheim, comments: "Johan von Heijne has
broad experience within Life Sciences Tools, and a documented ability to get
things done, most recently at General Electric. His broad experience and
strategic talents make him a highly suitable CEO for Biolin Scientific. We on
the Board are convinced that Johan, together with other members of the
management team, can develop Biolin Scientific into a strong and expansive
company."
Johan von Heijne will take up his position on 1 February 2013 and succeed Jan
Wahlström.
Biolin Scientific develops, manufactures and markets analytical instruments for
research, development, quality control and dental diagnostics. The company is
specialised in surface measurement with applications within Life Sciences but
also within material science and nanotechnology. The company also holds a very
strong position within cell analysis for pharmaceutical development. Customers
are found worldwide and mainly comprise researchers in pharmaceutical companies
and universities.
