Information
ÅF has signed a major framework agreement with the Swedish Defence Materiel
Administration, FMV. Based on FMV's own assessments of the volumes of consulting
services required, the agreement is estimated to be worth approximately SEK 70
million (8.2 million euros) over a seven-year period.
As part of the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration's procurement of services
in the field of Command & Control Systems, ÅF has won rights within the
framework agreement as sole supplier of services in the area of Sensors. The
agreement will run for an initial three years with an option to extend
collaboration for a further four years.
"This is an important agreement for ÅF's defence sector work. We have many
years' experience as a supplier to the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration
and are delighted to be able to continue to offer our support and extend it to
new areas of operations. As a result of this agreement, ÅF will be looking to
recruit more staff, in the first instance in the Stockholm and Enköping areas,"
says Jaime Rico, Business Area Manager Defence.
Recruitment will be made among specialists with system competence in sensors and
those with operational and systems competence in military command and control
systems.
ÅF will also partner Combitech in the technical areas of Transmission and
Verification/Validation.
