New bellow pump system enables even more precise and higher quality markings
HOFMANN, the market leader for road marking technology located in Rellingen, Germany, has developed a bellow pump system for highly viscous 2-component cold plastics that offers an entire range of additional benefits for the marking sector.
New bellow pump system enables even more precise and higher quality markings(firmenpresse) - The system makes it possible to run smooth, transverse bead, stochastic structure, and Spotflex® markings, thus combining in one system the cold plastic markings required on German roads.
The new system achieves a constant feed rate per revolution of the control valve independent of speed, viscosity, and counter pressure. Feed accuracy is always maintained, as even highly abrasive media up to a 2 mm grain size will not produce wear.
The reason for this is that the displacers no longer touch the walls of the pump chambers. The use of solvents is no problem because the pump is made completely of steel, and the pump can remain filled with marking material. The operating modes "AMAKOS®" (the quantity per square meter is constant at changed marking speed) and "Not AMAKOS®" (the quantity per square meter at changed marking speed is not constant) can be run with the hydraulically operated pump. The feed rate is electronically adjustable.
The vertically moveable application aggregate with mixer can be lifted by approx. 15 cm and can be shifted stagelessly between the respective outer positions at the same time. Painting lines from the machine center is thus possible. Service work is simplified because the outer positions can be lifted and tilted pneumatically by approx. 30°.
The maximum power of the parent component pump is 35 L/m, which means a marking speed of 13 km/h with an application rate of 2.5 kg/m² and a line width of 12 cm if no other limits require lower speeds.
