The Board of Dyesol Limited (ASX: DYE) is delighted to announce Mr Clemens
Betzel as the new Chief Executive Officer responsible for Global operations
of the Dyesol Group of companies.
Clemens studied at the Bonn University, graduating with a bachelor degree
in law and started his working life as a career diplomat for the German
Foreign Office working in a number of different countries and policy areas.
On leaving the German Foreign Office Clemens joined United Technologies
Corp. (UTC) as President, International Operations, Europe. More recently,
Clemens was President of a UK based third generation solar energy company
implementing their manufacturing start-up and commercialisation agenda.
Clemens has become particularly well known to Dyesol in the past 12 months,
acting as an adviser in relation to the European renewable energy sector.
Mr Richard Caldwell, Executive Chairman of Dyesol stated: 'We are extremely
pleased that we have been able to attract a person of Clemens' calibre and
experience to fulfil the role of Global Chief Executive. He will head the
executive management group and have a global mandate to manage the
increasing challenges of a rapidly growing technology company. Clemens
recently participated in the Dyesol board sponsored strategy and business
planning workshop, which set the three year framework for the strategic
business growth of the company. In his new role, Clemens will be
responsible for implementing this strategy, drawing on his
commercialisation experience and extensive global networks.'

The Technology - DYE SOLAR CELLS
DSC technology can best be described as 'artificial photosynthesis' using
an electrolyte, a layer of titania (a pigment used in white paints and
tooth paste) and ruthenium dye deposited on glass, metal or polymer
substrates. Light striking the dye excites electrons which are absorbed by
the titania to become an electric current many times stronger than that
found in natural photosynthesis in plants. Compared to conventional silicon
based photovoltaic technology, Dyesol's technology has lower cost and
embodied energy in manufacture, it produces electricity more efficiently
even in low light conditions and can be directly incorporated into
buildings by replacing conventional glass panels or metal sheets rather
than taking up roof or extra land area.

listed on the Australian Stock Exchange (ASX Code 'DYE'). Dyesol
manufactures and supplies a range of dye solar cell products comprising

taking this third generation solar technology out of the laboratory and
