Rodney Williams Chosen as "40 Under 40" Marketer
(firmenpresse) - CINCINNATI, OH -- (Marketwire) -- 01/21/13 -- Rodney Williams is being honored in today's issue of AdAge as one of "40 Under 40" Top Marketers across the U.S.
Williams, 29, of Cincinnati, is the co-founder and CEO of lisnr, a mobile application and software platform that allows music fans to unlock exclusive content from their favorite artists. He left Procter & Gamble, where he had served in Pampers brand management, in August 2012 to focus on the technology startup.
AdAge says the award recognizes "the innovative young marketing leaders who have made their mark in the client, agency and media realms -- all before their 40th birthdays."
In just over four years, Rodney Williams went from intern to senior assistant brand manager ... to the holder of three patents for social-media marketing, AdAge noted. "Just months into his new role, he left to launch lisnr ... and already counts Mondelez and Warner Bros. as clients."
AdAge also noted Williams' participation in the SxSW-bound Startup Bus -- a sort of Startup Weekend on wheels aimed at bringing together the right kind of talented people to focus intently on starting technology companies. The Startup Bus gave Williams time and resources to focus on developing his idea for lisnr.

Williams earned both an MBA and two bachelor's degrees (economics and finance) from Howard University and is a native of Baltimore, Md.
Lisnr changes the way consumers experience audio by turning what has been a passive experience into an interactive engagement platform. Currently, lisnr provides musicians with a new way to engage with their fans and provides advertisers a new way to partner with musicians through their music. Lisnr plans to scale multiple verticals, bringing the same kind of interaction to all forms of audio engagement including live events, broadcast television and film.
