Nine new top hotels in South Africa under development
More than 1,600 new hotel rooms in planning - 3 hotel openings this summer

South Africa is the travel hot spot of the year. With kick-off on 11 June of the FIFA soccer world championship, the world will focus on the destination at the south end of Africa. Over the next three years the hotel market will be extended with nine new hotel projects, and according to tophotelprojects.com, a leading database for hotel projects information, more than 1,600 new hotel rooms will be developed in the "Rainbow Nation".
"In 2010 we will see the finishing of three new first class and luxury hotels with 614 guest rooms" hotel development market expert Christian Berke says. In July, opening of the Park Inn by Radisson Sandton (270 rooms) and the Holiday Inn Express Durban (Umhlanga Ridge, 200 rooms) is scheduled. In December, the Radisson Hotel Blaauwberg in Cape Town (144 rooms) will be inaugurated.
