Solar thermal-based cooling? a profitable paradox
SorTech presents energy-efficient solar cooling concept at enertec

(PresseBox) - SorTech AG, pioneering energy-saving and eco-friendly adsorption chillers will display an intelligent concept for solar-thermal systems with solar cooling plus technical consultancy in solar technology at Leipzig?s enertec trade fair. This energy-efficient concept is based on the paradox sounding approach of using excess heat produced in a solar installation, e.g. in summer, for cooling by means of an adsorption chiller. Such an integrated solution does not only considerably reduce operational expenditures and CO2 emissions but is also eligible for up to 50 per cent public grants.
When planning installation of a solar-thermal system, it is reasonable to include the aspect of ?solar cooling? in the pertinent total energy performance analysis. Utilisation of process heat from a solar unit for cooling, due to its positive effects such lowering of CO2 emissions, is funded through a government program ? with up to 50 per cent of the costs of the solar system.
Professional forum to provide specific practical information
The forum ?A turn in energy policy ? now?, at enertec, Hall 4, will feature Mr. Andrè Weiß, Head of Business Unit Development Adsorption Chillers, who will illustrate the advantages of the integrated concept with concrete examples from 29 to 31 January 2013 at 12:30 hrs every day. The title of his presentation is: Adsorption technology for room cooling ? the cost-saving and environmentally-friendly solution.

SorTech AG has been a developer and manufacturer for more than ten years of energy efficient and very high-output chillers for low and medium cooling requirements. Cold is not generated with electric power but low-temperature excess heat and thus curbs both operating costs and worldwide CO2 emissions.
Adsorption chillers ? in combination with solar-thermal systems, local and district heating station, CHPs and industrial waste heat ? are ideally suited for cooling, technical processes as well as single- and multi-family dwellings. More than 400 SorTech systems are already operational worldwide.
