14th June 2010 - Worldlink, the owner of the UK and US patents for the transmission of profiled REAL-time data to mobile devices, has appointed Simon Robinson as Head of Media. Simon was the Deputy Managing Director of Mirror Group Newspapers from 1998 to 2000 and was previously Managing Director of the Mirror Group’s operations in Ireland. As part of his role as Deputy Managing Director, he was also Managing Director of the Sunday People newspaper.
After leaving the Mirror Group, he founded Parkgreen Communications, a leading financial public relations company which he sold in 2008. Simon’s appointment at Worldlink follows the company’s decision to market its product offerings via the UK media. The first commercial relationship has been signed with Express Newspapers and the promotion of Worldlink’s imobilemarkets service begins in the Daily Express from the w/c 14th June. Those customers who subscribe to the FREE imobilemarkets product will also be able to use the service to buy and sell shares direct from their mobile or desktop computer.
The imobilemarkets service provides the following:
•Stock Markets – REAL-time share information so that customers can watch share prices change in REAL-time across the London Stock Exchange, Turquoise, AIM and Plus markets
•Foreign Exchange – REAL-time information on a wide range of currency pairings
•Commodities – pricing information on the most popular currencies traded
•Watchlists – where you can track the performance of your own share portfolio
•News – Stock market, economic and company information can be tracked in REAL-time so you can find out what news and how the news affects the stock market
•Charts – customers can track the historic performance of a share for example, over a five year period
