Multi-Contact again?CleanTech Driver?

ID: 22348

(PresseBox) - This year, Multi-Contact participates as ?CleanTech Driver? in a study focusing on photovoltaic technology by the German CleanTech Institute (DCTI) for the second time.
The study aims at raising the public awareness for the topic, and on promoting the respective technologies accordingly. The institute interviews representatives of the industry in order to identify requirements for the progress of clean technologies, evaluate trends, and point out new perspectives.
As leading manufacturer of energy efficient PV connector systems, Multi-Contact was able to take part in the survey for the second time, and again received the official CleanTech certificate. Thanks to the unique MC Multilam Technology, electrical contact elements by Multi-Contact which are widely used in various industries are characterized by a particularly low contact resistance, little power loss, and a long life-span.
Multi-Contact?s CEO Franco Delvecchio sees a particularly relevant development in the automation of production processes in the solar industry. ?The more steps are integrated in the automated process, the lower the overall costs of the installation. Thus, the single components need to be built in such a way that they are suited for these procedures?, says Delvecchio.
Multi-Contact is meeting the challenge of this development by designing more and more parts such as connectors and junction boxes that are suited for both manual and automated assembly. At the same time, the company increasingly relies on process automation in their own production. The European PV production site in Essen (D) has been enlarged and equipped with ultra modern, fully automated transfer lines for the cable assembly. The greater output of the machines allows for the processing of larger numbers, with a 100% routine test.
