Strong, lightweight and proven – the WOLFF 8033cross
Munich – January 2013. With the 8033cross WOLFFKRAN brought a high-performance trolley jib crane onto the market in 2010 that strengthened the WOLFF crane portfolio in the 450 mt range and was ideally suited for the requirements of modern construction sites. Since its market introduction, the new crane has established itself in the Middle East and the demand for it in the European market consistently increased.

With a maximum lifting capacity of 20 t, a maximum jib radius of 80 m and the Hw 20110 FU fast-action hoisting winch with 110 kW, the 8033cross is a real powerhouse. “We use the 8033cross particularly for construction sites on which heavy precast concrete elements have to be moved,” explains Konrad Blum, technical consultant for civil engineering at Baumaschinentechnik International BMTI. “In 2-fall operation it works very quickly, and in 4-fall operation it has an extremely high lifting capacity, although it is as simple and easy to erect as a crane in the 300 mt segment. That makes it particularly cost-effective,” says Blum.
The WOLFF 8033cross – the perfect link between XL and XXL
For some time now, there has been a trend towards building with precast concrete components. This can be explained by the ever shorter project times which necessitate particularly heavy, prefabricated elements. The new WOLFF 8033.20cross in the version as a pure 2-fall crane with a maximum lifting capacity of 20 t and a 110 kW hoisting winch is ideally suited for construction sites of this type. “The 8033cross functions as an optimum link between the XXL cranes, such as the 8540, and the more compact WOLFFs, such as the 7532,” says Carsten Druske, Branch Manager of WOLFFKRAN Dortmund. “The 8033cross combines the benefits of both segments”.
Building boom in the GCC States – 8033cross the ideal partner
The highest level of productivity accompanied by economy make the 8033cross the ideal partner for the Arabian market. “Over the past few years the GCC States have been experiencing a building boom, huge structures are sprouting up like mushrooms. By virtue of its high lifting capacity and customer-friendly transport and assembly characteristics the 8033cross is in high demand there,” says Joseph Sayegh, Head of Sales, Marketing & Service at WOLFFKRAN. Currently a large pack of 8033cross cranes is standing on the site of King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah, one of Saudi Arabia’s biggest construction projects, where a total of approx. 60 different red WOLFF cranes are being employed. Further WOLFF 8033cross cranes are being used on construction projects in Dubai.
The lightweight in three powerful versions
The design principle of the 8033cross is the same as the 7532 from the Cross Line. Just like its “little brother”, the 8033cross is distinguished by low system heights and low weights of the main components.
The WOLFF 8033cross is available in 8.5 t, 16.5 t and 20 t versions. In all three versions the jib length can be extended from 30 m to up to 80 m in increments of 2.5 m. Even with the 80 m jib, the 20 t version still achieves 2.6 t at the tip and can lift a 20 t load up to a jib radius of 15.8 m.
In the 8.5 t and 20 t models – both pure 2-fall versions – the 8033cross has impressive working speeds and lifting heights. The most popular 20 t version achieves impressive 190 m/min and offers a maximum lifting height of 400 m in the partial load operational range. Besides these pure 2-fall versions, a re-reevable 2-/4-fall version with a maximum load capacity of 16.5 t and a 75 kW hoisting winch is also available.
