Sama Resources Appoints Mr. Steven Ryan, MMG Limited's Executive General Manager-Exploration, to its Board of Directors
(firmenpresse) - VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA -- (Marketwire) -- 02/01/13 -- Sama Resources Inc. ("Sama" or the "Company") (TSX VENTURE: SME) is pleased to announce that, effective immediately, Mr. Steven Ryan has been appointed a Director of the Company. Mr. Ryan is the Executive General Manager - Exploration of MMG Limited ("MMG"), a company listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange (Stock Code: 1208). He was appointed to the Executive Committee of MMG on its formation in June 2009 in the capacity of Executive General Manager - Exploration. He is also a director of a number of MMG's subsidiaries. The appointment of Mr. Ryan as a Director of Sama is subject to regulatory approval.
Dr. Marc-Antoine Audet, President and CEO of Sama, stated: "Sama is extremely pleased to have Mr. Ryan join Sama's Board of Directors. His international exploration management experience will be an asset to the Company as it develops its projects in West Africa. Mr. Ryan's project management expertise comes at an important time for the Company as it has commenced a preliminary economic assessment study on its Samapleu Project in Cote d'Ivoire." Mr. Ryan is a geologist with more than 25 years' international experience in the mineral exploration industry. He has managed exploration projects in Australia, Africa, China, India, Russia, Fiji and Indonesia and spent 3 years in the venture capital industry as an Investment and Business Development Manager for an international venture capital group. He has a Bachelor of Science honours degree in Geology and a Master of Business Administration in International Business.
The Company also announces the resignation of Dr. Stephen Beresford as a Director of the Company effective immediately. The Company's Board thanks Dr. Beresford for his valuable contribution as MMG's representative on Sama's Board of Directors.
