IndiGo Receives First V2500-Powered A320 With Sharklets
(firmenpresse) - GLASTONBURY, CT -- (Marketwire) -- 02/01/13 -- IndiGo, IAE and Pratt & Whitney's largest customer in India, has taken delivery of the first V2500-powered A320 with Sharklets. This delivery is part of IndiGo's larger order for 280 A320 family aircraft, including both A320 ceos and neos.
IndiGo is an all IAE operator and the largest domestic airline by market share in India today. It began operations in 2006 and has a fleet of 62 A320s today.
"This is another significant milestone for IndiGo and IAE," said IAE President Jon Beatty. "They have a long history with IAE, including being the launch customer for the first V2500 SelectOne™ engine. Not only is their entire fleet powered by the V2500, it is also covered under IAE's V-Services(SM)."

IndiGo currently operate International flights to five destinations, namely, Bangkok, Dubai, Kathmandu, Muscat and Singapore. The first international flight commenced on September 1, 2011.
IAE is a multinational aero engine consortium whose shareholders are comprised of Pratt & Whitney (NYSE: UTX), Pratt & Whitney Aero Engines International GmbH, Japanese Aero Engines Corporation and MTU Aero Engines.
