Munich, 16 June 2010: After a short project planning phase, GIEAG has been
realizing a modern logistics distribution center in Erfurt-Stotternheim
since April of this year for Eurogate Warehousing&Distribution Erfurt
GmbH. Eurogate is a logistics and distribution firm based in Hamburg, which
belongs to the Mare group and operates across Germany. The property located
along the road 'Erfurter Landstrasse' consists of almost 60,000 sqm
logistics space as well as an additional 7,200 sqm of mezzanine and office
space. It is in the direct vicinity of the Federal Motorway BAB 71.
Eurogate will provide Europe-wide logistics services for the Japanese
company Panasonic on the property. The facilities on the property shall be
completed and turned over in several steps between July and October 2010.
In direct vicinity of the GIEAG project, a 25,000 sqm cold storage
warehouse is being constructed and an additional 60,000 sqm area is being
prepared for an automobile supplier. The GIEAG project was planned by
ProLogis Germany Management GmbH, which is currently supervising the
project as project manager in cooperation with the general contractor Max
Bögl.
