Tieto chosen as outsourcing partner by Skåne Regional Council in Sweden

Skåne Regional Council has carried out a tender process for user-centric IT
services. After evaluating the tenders received, Skåne Regional Council has
decided to choose Tieto as its outsourcing partner. The deal corresponds to an
order value of around SEK 516 million (approximately EUR 50 million) during the
first contractual term of five years, and also contains an option of extension
for two years.
Skåne Regional Council has operations in around 240 locations, and has around
33 000 employees and IT users. The procurement of user-intimate IT services
covers the service desk, on-site support, printing and copying as a service, and
multimedia as a service. Tieto is also tasked with coordinating other IT
services for Skåne Regional Council's end users.
The deal was made within the scope of the Swedish Legal, Financial and
Administrative Services Agency's frame agreement for "Operational Services
2010, Overall IT Operation". Under the Swedish Public Procurement Act, all
participants in this tender have received notification of the allocation
decision in which Skåne Regional Council justifies its choice of Tieto. These
tenderers now have 10 days in which to present any opinions on the decision.
After that, agreements can be signed between Skåne Regional Council and Tieto.
