Tieto continues as outsourcing partner to Jämtland County Council

For the third time in a row, Jämtland County Council in Sweden has chosen Tieto
as its one-stop supplier for a number of IT services. The deal corresponds to
orders worth about SEK 130 million (approximately EUR 13 million) during a
contract term of maximum six years.
"Tieto has proved to be an excellent, reliable supplier and once again had the
best overall offering. An implementation project is now being launched in which
we will be moving forward our positions in a number of technologies and areas,
including IT security, standardised processes, standardised terminals and
systems administration," says Thomas Nesterud, IT strategist in the County
Council.
Tieto's sphere of responsibility includes server operation, applications
operation, operation of terminals, service desk, communication services and
systems administration. As a one-stop supplier, Tieto will also be charged with
coordinating task flows and deliveries from a number of IT suppliers that have
direct contracts with the County Council.
"It's unusual in the public sector that the same supplier maintains its contract
through three competitive tenders. We're naturally very pleased and proud that
we're able to continue working with Jämtland County Council, a partnership
that's been in place since 2001. The fact that the Council has once again opted
to work with us is proof that we submitted the best tender and have met our
previous obligations satisfactorily," says Lennart Larsson, who is responsible
for municipalities and county councils at Tieto in Sweden.
