The result of the export is a complex summary of XML files which can be easliy accessed and managed through simple program functions thanks to the IDMLlib for Java. Programmers can thus safe the time to study the IDML format and Java for days or even weeks. Further you do not need any Java and InDesign Server specialists.
What is IDMLlib?
IDMLlib is a Java library that can extract, modify and write back content from IDML documents that were exported from Adobe InDesign. With the IDMLlib the java world gains full access to all IDML documents. Without studying the IDML specifications developers can load documents, extract the content and reuse it.
The IDMLlib was created by developers with a deep understanding and experience from the print and publishing industry. Therefore it contains functions that for instance help you to identify important page items. With the IDMLlib you not only get a tool to immediately work with IDML and InDesign documents but also the support you need to enable your media production workflow.
The java library can be incorporated and used within minutes into any project. Adobe InDesign documents can than be cost efficiently prepared to be used in other workflow steps. With our code examples and a complete java documentation any programmer can start right away. We offer an ideal interface between layout documents and information that could be managed in a database. Simple correction-, aproval- and order systems for advertisement, bochures, billboards and other advertising or communication channels can be realized with existing java enterprise frameworks for an attractive low price.
