BIOGAS NORD AG publishes figures for 2009

Bielefeld, 30th June, 2010. BIOGAS NORD AG has published its financial
results for the year 2009, pursuant to§§290 ff HGB and the supplementary
provisions based on the Companies Act.
The consolidated financial statements as of the 31st of December, 2009 of
the Biogas Nord Group show an increase in the total output from 17,695k EUR
during 2008 to 35,304k EUR during 2009, an increase of 99.5 %. At the same
time, the total turnover has increased by 207.4 %, from EUR 12,084k to
37,145k. The EBIT rose to -962k EUR (previous year: -8,571k EUR). The
EBITDA has increased to -389k EUR (previous year: -8,006k EUR). The annual
result after minority interests was TEUR -642 (previous year: -8,297k EUR).
Accordingly, the earnings per share were EUR -0.25, based on a total number
of 2.5625 million shares. The net loss for the year includes a one-time
provision for legal claims in the amount of 639k EUR.
As of the balance sheet date, the order backlog has increased by 49.4 % to
34,800k EUR (previous year: 23,300k EUR). During the year 2009, the total
amount of orders received was 48,400k EUR (previous year: 19,900k EUR).
'On June of 2010, approximately 50 plants with a total contract value of
approximately 63,000k EUR were in different stages of construction.
Additional contracts are currently in final negotiations and are expected
to be materialized soon', said Asnat Drouianov, CFO of Biogas Nord AG.
On the 31st of December 2009, the total assets of Biogas Nord AG amounted
to 22,622k EUR (previous year: 16,683k EUR). The Shareholders' equity has
decreased from 2,022k EUR to 1,480k EUR, thus the equity ratio decreased to
6.5 % (previous year: 12.1 %). The total liabilities amounted to 17,287k
EUR (previous year: 13,209k EUR), including financial liabilities of a
total amount of 3,489k EUR (previous year: 114k EUR). Cash reserves have
increased from 522k EUR on the 31st December 2008 to 3,075k EUR on the 31st
December 2009.
'We have taken over Biogas Nord AG in April 2009, and have since invested
in it considerable efforts and funds. We are very pleased to see a
significant turnaround in the results of the company. During 2009 we
completed about 33 plants, compared to 13 in the previous year.
Undoubtedly, the enforcement of the new EEG on 1 January 2009 has given us
a strong backwind. Internally, 2009 was used for cost saving measures and
Group restructuring. We are putting a strong emphasis on global expansion
and on owning our own biogas plants', said Aleksander Rechter, CEO of
Biogas Nord AG. 'Supported by the confident statements of numerous analysts
regarding the future of the biogas industry, we expect to conclude 2010
with a further growth, and hopefully with break-even results of operation.
Based on the current sales and the positive political environment, we
expect to continue to grow during the years to come', said Mr. Rechter.
