Ahold share buyback update

Amsterdam, the Netherlands, July 5, 2010 - Ahold has repurchased 1,369,662 Ahold
common shares in the period from June, 28, 2010 up to and including July,
2, 2010. The shares were repurchased at an average price of ? 10.1401 per share
for a total consideration of ? 13.89 million. These repurchases were made as
part of the ? 500 million share buyback program announced on March 4, 2010.
The total number of shares repurchased under this program to date is 12,762,481
common shares for a total consideration of ? 130.7 million.
