The case was filed in the Circuit Court of the 15th Judicial District in and for Palm Beach County, Florida. The matter was assigned to the General Jurisdiction Division and it was given a case number of 2009 CA-008935 MB (AD). The lawsuit sought damages that were to compensate the plaintiff for several different forms of loss suffered as a result of a fall that occurred on the premises of the defendant.
The court documents related to the lawsuit indicated that the plaintiff was allegedly on the premises of the defendant, which operated as a resort and a kitchen. While the plaintiff was on the premises of the defendant, she allegedly encountered an employee who was working at the defendant business as a bellhop. Suddenly, the defendant's employee stepped into a hole in close proximity to the plaintiff and fell onto the plaintiff. This collision caused the plaintiff to be knocked down as well, and as a result of the fall the plaintiff suffered serious injuries to her teeth and to her hip, both of which required medical care and treatment.

Per agreement between the parties, the specific terms of this settlement are being kept confidential and the matter is now considered closed.
