Hamburg, 6 July 2010 - Asian Bamboo AG ('Asian Bamboo', 'the Company',
ISIN: DE000A0M6M79, ticker symbol: '5AB', ADR ticker symbol 'ASIBY'), a
world-leading producer of bamboo trees and organic bamboo shoots, is
pleased to announce that all its plantations are intact following the
rainstorm which hit Fujian Province during the month of June. However some
damage has been made to the roads leading up to the plantations, which
means that a part of planned sales of bamboo trees will be delayed until
the repair work is completed. Sales of bamboo trees are seasonally low
during the summer months, therefore only a relatively small part of the
company's overall business is affected.
Overall the company's performance continues to be very strong supported by
a growing plantation size, solid demand, price inflation and a
strengthening currency. The Management Board will update the year end
guidance in connection with the Q2 results announcement.
