euromicron's subsidiary MICROSENS is presenting 'Profi Line Modular', a new
family of switches for industrial use, at CeBIT 2013. The hardware and
software of 'Profi Line Modular' is designed to deliver maximum performance
over a minimum footprint. The switches meet core requirements of an
industrial environment - network security, fault tolerance, the shortest
possible recovery times and maximum flexibility - as well as demands for
cost-effectiveness, scalability and investment protection. MICROSENS is
thus continuing euromicron's group-wide innovation initiative at CeBIT
2013.
Hamm/Frankfurt/Hanover, March 2013 - MICROSENS, the technology specialist
for high data rates and network performance - is presenting 'Profi Line
Modular', a family of industrial switches newly developed as part of
euromicron's innovation initiative, at CeBIT 2013.
The basic switch model alone offers thirteen Gigabit ports, four of them in
the form of combo ports with an SFP slot. The expansion module with six or
twelve Gigabit Ethernet ports is simply attached at the side and likewise
has Gigabit combo ports. As a result, a considerable number of fiber-optic
connections can be implemented cost-effectively and depending on the
required use. The copper ports offer PoE/PoE+. The expansion concept of the
new MICROSENS switch family is designed so that no excessively large
backplane has to be fitted during first-time installation. As a result, the
'Profi Line Modular' series does not waste any valuable space in the
distribution frame. Its hardware is ready for future functions, which can
be enabled by means of firmware upgrades. To permit that, MICROSENS has
developed a convenient solution in which the operating system, firmware and
configuration are stored on an SD card in the switch. If a basic switch
module has to be replaced, the new module automatically takes over all the
settings simply by inserting the new SD card.
Since being founded in 1993, MICROSENS has relied on its own hardware and
software development teams. Design and manufacture of the products in
Germany contribute significantly to their quality. 'Profi Line Modular'
will be available as of the second quarter of 2013.
The product innovation from MICROSENS is again the fruit of the increased
investment by euromicron in developing new products and solutions and in
