- TIANJIN NEW WEI SAN INDUSTRIAL CO., LTD., located in Tianjin China, is a
market
leader in metal processing of automotive components
- MES solution a strategic enhancement to the existing ERP and CAD system
- IBS reinforces its activities on the Asian market
Hoehr-Grenzhausen, 9th July 2010: TIANJIN NEW WEI SAN INDUSTRIAL CO., LTD.
(NWS) specialises in the construction and manufacture of high-quality cast
parts for the global market. In addition to component production in its
foundry, NWS also offers further processing of the parts, including
assembly into ready-to-install components. A number of renowned companies
today rely on NWS' competence for the realisation of their sophisticated
products.
To remain competitive, NWS fosters a policy of continuous improvement and
the achievement of efficient, transparent processes, which has led the
company to opt for the implementation of a MES software solution. IBS AG's
Manufacturing Execution System embodies a process-oriented,
software-supported production management system. The IBS software solution
will provide an enhancement to the ERP and CAD system already in operation
at NWS and also replace a number of isolated solutions and local systems.
Following project completion, NWS will have fully-integrated,
site-independent, standardised quality, production and traceability
management at its fingertips.
'Achieving unified, standard processes in all our plants is our primary
goal', explains Ray T. Lin, Director of Quality Assurance at NWS.
'Implementation of the MES solution will enable us to access reliable,
consistent data from our databases - and this on a plant independent basis.
This data will enable us to precisely evaluate our processes, from which
our improvement processes can be launched. We will be able to identify
defects at an earlier stage, which will lead to a notable decrease in our
quality defect costs. In addition to the aforementioned quality
improvements for our products, the MES solution will also enable us
considerable cost-savings. Internal quality costs account for a significant
percentage of our turnover', explains Ray T. Lin.
'The demand and requirement for production-assistive IT solutions is
particularly augmented in Asia due to fast-growing national economies with
a high proportion of industry. Along with the support of our Shanghai
branch we will be striving to attain further orders in Asia in the future',
explains Volker Schwickert, Executive Vice President and Director of Sales
and Marketing at IBS. 'Our solutions will enable NWS to map all types of
quality, production and process-relevant information, right across the
supply chain. Our solutions produce quality, and generally carry a payback
period of less than one financial year. I am delighted that we have
received this order and look forward to a successful co-operation with
NWS', says Volker Schwickert.
