Ahold share buyback update

Amsterdam, the Netherlands, July 12, 2010 - Ahold has repurchased 646,046 Ahold
common shares in the period from July 5, 2010 up to and including July,
9, 2010. The shares were repurchased at an average price of ? 10.0408 per share
for a total consideration of ? 6.49 million. These repurchases were made as part
of the ? 500 million share buyback program announced on March 4, 2010.
The total number of shares repurchased under this program to date is
13,408,527 common shares for a total consideration of ? 137.2 million.
