(firmenpresse) - BUENA PARK, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 03/08/13 -- For the first time in its history, Medieval Times Dinner & Tournament recently let a fan train with the Knights of the Realm. Medieval Times' Buena Park Castle held a Facebook contest where fans entered to win this unique opportunity.

"Medieval Times embraced the social media realm years ago as a way to connect with our fans," said Marketing Director David Manuel. "We regularly post insider news and behind-the-scenes footage, host contests, and provide discounts to our show. This rare chance for an adult to train in the arena with the knights really resonated with our fans."

For Facebook fan Alan Go, it was a dream come true.

"We were actually swinging at real knights," said Go, who, along three friends, were then treated to dinner and the tournament. "The entire experience will definitely go down in history as one of our greatest adventures."

Manuel said that Medieval Times will continue to use Facebook to connect with its fans, including its popular contest "Where is the Green Knight?" where the fan who correctly identifies the location of the Green Knight in the featured photo wins a variety of prizes, including tickets to the show.

Although Medieval Times is set in the middle ages, Manuel said they want their 21st Century Facebook fans to be the first to know about specials at the castle and for them to be able to experience unique opportunities. In fact, the "Train with the Knights of the Realm" contest proved so popular, Medieval Times plans to repeat it.
