(firmenpresse) - LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM -- (Marketwire) -- 03/13/13 -- first direct has announced that it is reducing the monthly amount people need to pay into its 1st Account. From 1 April the minimum amount new customers will need to put into its will reduce from GBP 1,500 to GBP 1,000 and from 1 May for existing customers.

"In the last few years we've been focussing on making sure we continue to reward our loyal customers with the great service they've come to expect from us. However, we now feel the time is right to open our doors a little wider."
first direct is the only bank to offer a satisfaction guarantee for people moving accounts whereby new customers receive GBP 100 when they join the bank and a further GBP 100 if they decide to move because they're not happy with the service they've received.
Notes
The bank first introduced the monthly limits in 2007 in order to encourage stronger relationships with its customers by making the bank their primary account. Customers who don't maintain the average monthly balance could be charged a fee of GBP 10 a month which could be offset but holding a further product with the bank.
