Employees Pelted With Colorful Powder While Helping to Raise Money for Local Causes
(firmenpresse) - BATON ROUGE, LA -- (Marketwire) -- 03/13/13 -- joins a colorful group of local organizations in sponsorship of The Shamrock Color 5K + Block Party, benefiting the and . Taking place Saturday, March 16th from 2-6 p.m. at Festival Plaza in Downtown Shreveport, a group of Venyu participants will run and walk through a gauntlet of cornstarch and FD&C approved colorants every kilometer of the course, to help raise funds for local causes.
The Shamrock is Shreveport Bossier's first family-friendly 5K and Saint Paddy's Day block party, hosted by and benefiting Cohab and Downtown Shreveport Unlimited (DSU). The event's volunteers are stationed on the edge of each color station as runners move between them. Event organizers advise to "stick to either edge of the station, closest to the color bins," if participants prefer a heavy dose of color and "run right up the middle," to limit powder coatings.
"The Shamrock Color 5K + Block Party is an outstanding event to help raise funds for worthy, local causes," said Scott Thompson, Venyu's Chief Executive Officer. "We are proud to be among this year's corporate sponsors and look forward to a colorful dousing."
